A sends:

The UK Ministry of Defence's Counter Terrorism Science and Technology Centre
(CTCENTRE) has been (perhaps unwisely) publishing usage stats on its
website:-

www.ctcentre.mod.uk

Press release announcing opening of centre in May 2006:-

www.ctcentre.mod.uk/press/CTCentre18-05-06.pdf

CTCENTRE is run on behalf of MoD by Defence Science and Technology
Laboratories (www.dstl.gov.uk) at their Porton Down biowarfare research HQ.

The logs were very quickly removed recently by some red-faced techies, but
some are still available in Google's cache (hurry before they fade away!):-

On the stats pages presented above, try copying and pasting the host details
of the visitors into www.robtex.com, the devilishly useful web tool.

For example, I spotted www.mass.co.uk and www.zqwdrqsz.com in the logs. The
first belongs to MASS Consultants - a UK software house responsible for
adapting the US Trident missile command and control software for use by the
UK MoD, in a secret underground bunker in the English countryside near a
town called Corsham.

More on MASS Consultants here:-

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan-turnbull/secret3.htm#corsham

The second very curious domain is registered to a certain BAe Systems plc, 6
Carlton Gardens, London SW1Y 5AD (corporate head office) and based at the
Farnborough Aerospace Centre, plus numerous locations across the UK
(www.baesystems.com):-

http://www.robtex.com/whois/zqwdrqsz.com.html

It seems to be used as a BAe Systems proxy server and / or a mailer daemon.
So now you know. Look out for "zqwdrqsz" in your visitor logs!
